  4.     I will be reading your article on the high cost of college
  5. tuition to my high school students (EDUCATION, Sept. 25). Tuition
  6. increases may be justified by colleges as lures to attract and hold
  7. top-rated faculty, but the truth is that these professors rarely
  8. even see undergraduates, much less teach them. Parents and students
  9. will have to realize that great research universities are not
  10. necessarily great teaching institutions.

  15.     An Ivy League college degree does have clout in the job market.
  16. When I graduated from Brown two years ago, my first job was busing
  17. tables at a sushi restaurant. After my first day on the job, I told
  18. the owner where I had gone to college, and next day I was made
  19. manager.
